I had this apart the other day, after using it as part of the big clean of the house we did the other week. It got very overwhelmed by all the hair, and I didn't use it much

First step, safety first, remove the battery

Undo the base plate screws (which don't come out, their moulded into the baseplate

Remove the baseplate

The 2 small front wheels pop out of the base plate

The brushroll lifts out of the unit

and slides out of the belt

The brushroll bearings slide off the ends of the brushroll

Next, pick all the hair off

Much better!

6 screws remove the top cover

Which holds the power button cover, and the clear plastic LED lenses

The power button cover pops off it's hinge

The lenses pop out of the housing too

Onto the next layer

This spring sits under the power button cover

Another matching date stamp

The battery power connector lifts out of the housing

The battery connector doesn't need to be unplugged to get the middle section out, but I did...

Onto the bottom layer. The switch and motor wires run under the middle under a plastic cover

I started with the motor, and marked the wire location

Motor markings

The motor is held in place with this end cap, which fits a moulding in the main chassis

The belt will have fallen off by this point

Power switch next

Switch removed, I moved onto the suction inlet, which has 2 metal bushes where it all pivots

The surprisingly simple PCB is next

This spring holds the battery tight (well, the original battery, it's not so good with the bojack one)

The bumper all but falls off at this point too

This is the hole that monitors the suction, it connects to the PCB via a molded tube

Removed

This part controls the second part of the sensors, and detects motion on one of the wheels

Empty

Last thing to come out is the rear wheels

The one that gets picked up by the motion sensor has a metal insert

And stripped! There's not many screws

Everything was washed up along with a DC07 I stripped first

Rear wheels in first

PCB back in

Wiring fed across to the other side. This is a fiddly part, as the cover doesn't 'snap' in, so gets dislodged very easily

Battery holding spring fitted

Suction inlet fitted

Power switch fitted

Motor fitted

Middle cover fitted, as well as the battery terminal block

Top cover was reassembled and screwed down

Back underneath, and the brushroll is refitted

Baseplate refitted

I put a few winds of tape around the battery, which holds it in much better

Quick test, and it works

And back in the hallways it goes!

It works better than it did before, wether that is a placebo effect or not, but it grooms better than it did! Maybe the brushroll benefited from a wash!

Well now it looks far too nice to use! Looks like you'll just have to put it on display. :))
In all seriousness it does look fantastic now. I still need to get a battery for mine.

The only one I saw recently was the one I have now. It didn't have a battery or charger which likely lowered the price and put other people off. I got it for just over 40 U.S dollars delivered, so less than 30 pounds.

Problem here is that they hardly ever crop up!

Speaking of which, just did a quick search on ebay and found a brand new one without the battery or charger for about 50 dollars, free shipping.
Oh well, I'm happy with mine!
