We have had a Creda W120FW washing machine for years, it was used when we got it so god knows how old it is, anyway it was moved into the shed years ago as the suspension had one soft and she would try to walk sometimes on spin, and we have had 2 Beko's since for the laundry. The creda Bertha, was used first for washing pond filters and recently for dysons but she has finally

(just spent £9 on a door seal

) I think her speed controller has gone, on the wash program she tries to spin at start up, not good when full of water and you have soft suspension, she also goes through the program so fast the water doesn't heat up properly. When she gets to spin she just sits there draining

The controller is part of the motor and a new motor is £75 so it looks like I'm going ebay shopping for a replacement which is a shame as the rest of her is perfect and parts are so cheep, apart from the motor.

Hi mate: When you say speed controller do you mean the module ?. I thought the module on those was integrated with the timer, can't remember exactly it's been a while & I can't find my disc with the service manual.
In any case have you checked the module for dry joints & more importantly bulged electrolytic caps ?.

Or are you thinking of the tacho generator coil on the motor ? If you are, it's easy enough to check it with a multimeter.

My apologies buddy there is a control board mounted on the motor, but same applies with the caps etc.
Check the pressure switch as well, a faulty switch or blockage in the air tube can cause module confusion as well.

No probs, let's hope it's something simple causing the problem. Bit too close to crimbo to be forking out for a washing machine.

Well Bertha is no more

I found a nice Bosh WFF 2000 only 15 miles away with 1day to go and a starting bid of £9.99

Description was "Bosch wff2000 washing machine owned by us from new. This when purchased was the best. It has a proper stainless steel drum that can be repaired not like the cheap plastic outer drum machines that if something goes wrong then that's it.

Relisted as buyer thought they were buying a tumble dryer. :)

It works and has no known issues.

It had new drum bearings and drum seals 18 months ago along with new brushes for the motor, new drain pump and new door seal. This was all done as a complete refurbishment.

It's clean and looks good we are having a new kitchen fitted and the boss (my wife) wants a built in one.

Sad to see it go, but someone will hopefully have years of trouble free service out of her. "

I offered £25 and waited... we settled on £30

It weighs a lot more that the Creda so I was not going to even try to put in on the top

so it swooped places with the dishwasher I need to alter the divider now though as you cant open the dishwasher unless you pull the plugs out on the left

The floor is also a bit wet thanks to water that managed to defy gravity and escape out of the hose

I couldn't face getting it down and putting it back up, it nearly killed me last time, I'm getting old

I need to put the Bosch on the worktop and the dishwasher on the floor, It is virtually impossible to load a dishwasher from the front when it is that hight
