US Nacecare Charles CVC 370 Questions
« on: March 27, 2022, 07:34:09 pm »
We have a US model Charles CVC 370 the 120V AC 60 Hz two-stage, 1200 watt motor, and A21a aluminum wet/dry wand kit.  Quiet, good filtration, and very handy around the house. It's also handled a few wet pick-ups but mostly does dry pick up. Waterproof switch covers, long SJTW replaceable cord, and tool storage are well thought out. Clips that hold the head and body together could be more solid. We also looked at the PPR 380 but and other dry only models. Charles may be the best model in the lineup unless you want extraction or only need a dry vac. A few questions about the US model CVC 370:

Is it using the older 1200 watt motor that used to come on older Henry/ Numatic/ Nacecare vacs?

Was 1,100 hours the standard rating for the 1200 watt motors? Most of the 680-watt vacs have a 2,000-hour life and longer warranty. CVC370 has 1,100 hour life and shorter 2 year warranty for US models. There's also a dual 800 watt/ 1600 watt total power motor on some of the more industrial vacs.

What are the best tools or attachments for tackling upholstery and carpeted stairs?

How are the Micro-Flo vs Hepa-Flo bags for drywall and fine dust pick up? Would they CVC 370 work with the Mirco-Flo bags, or would they be too restrictive?

What are the main differences between a UK domestic market Charles/ Henry Wet Dry/ CVC 370 vs the US models? (other than the obvious difference in 230V vs 120V mains power).

How are the commercial Henry/ Numatic/ Nacecare vac regarded in the UK compared to Nilfisk, Fein, Bosch, and others?

Are these a viable only vac for UK households? US homes usually have too much thick carpet, and need something with a power nozzle.

Has anyone else noticed that Henry, Charles, James, and the rest have a British accent? We have a canister vac from Germany, Charles has an English accent and the canister vac has a Germanic accent. Hilarious when you hear them conversing in the closet at night.

We'd buy it again, though we are very jealous when we see Argos, Curry, and others with wet-dry Henry's or Charles on sale for a lot less than we paid. It is re-designed for the 120V mains power, they are costs from shipping and import, but we appreciate that's it comes from Chard, England.

As far as we know, they will be the same apart from voltage.

Nilfisk, Fein and Bosch have very little market segment here. Bosch would probably be regarded as the better. But we did have some Nilfisk which were very nice machines.

Numatic Henry here have many fans, but a Henry is an inexpensive machine with limitations. For that type of machine, we suggest instead the Sebo D8.

They are not viable for thick carpet really in our opinion. They sell a turbine head for them, which probably makes it easier. But opinions vary widely on them.

Hopefully, others will know more about your other questions.
