I actually like this (sort of) because the flexible wand was one of my main hates with the DC50. The DC24 wand is better but still hate that because if you try to take off the wand without the pole collapsing in the wand, it's impossible and the tiny hose for a big wand is a bit inconvenient IMHO.
Loved it's bigger version (DC25) and I think it's one of Dyson's best uprights and probably their best ball (not sure if it's better than a DC15 though as not tried one)
With the DC50, I like the brushroll and cleaner head overall. No plastic struts in the soleplate so the carpet can get sucked up closer to the brushbar and the brush can give it a good beating
I like the stiffness of DC40 bristles though. I wish Dyson did one row of the nylon bristles and 1 row of the stiffer ones that would be good (like the American DC41)
