Hi, Daughters DC25 animal vac. willlnot wrk, the item in question is the "upright valve lock" which locks the vac. in  place, I have sourced this but I can not find any information as to how to replace this, as it is not mine would like an explanation as how difficult this is toe repair, I personally have replace the motor in a DC04, stipped down car engines, so capable of most things but do no want to dismantle my daughters until I hear from the forum, pre-warned is pre-formed. Thanks Dave

Hi Dave

It's not too difficult tbh, but lots has to come apart to fit it.

Grab a coffee and have a read of this

Hi, Got bored last night, looked at vac.then started to strip it down, it requires quite a bit of time to remove all the parts but I finally achieved it, works as good as new now, it will do as a back-up for my daughters.
