Bought a Faulty DC25 on eBay - Advice Please?
« on: January 09, 2016, 07:08:04 pm »
hi room I just purchased a Dyson dc25 hoover off the seller kayysmithh on ebay. The item works but there is a part missing that transfers the suction from the head of the hoover to the wand it operates the movement  of the hose to the wand. does any body have any suggestion as to what part is missing or am idea of where I could find the info I need. thank you very much Ash.

Hi ash.  Look at the cleaner from the front,  then look at the left hand side.  The suction runs through a pipe that moves.  Or,  the lever that is operated by inserting or removing the wand,  behind the cyclone.

Put some pics up if your unsure and we can advise

Press reply at the end of the forum but before the quick reply box.

It's a zip file,  but shows that there seems to be something missing,  mainly the changeover wheel.

Head over to the dc25 section,  find my rebuild thread a d see if you can spot the difference!

3rd  pic down,  on my phone so can't direct link it.  Just looks on yours that the lever that drives the changeover wheel is just sat on its own

There is a clear wheel type part that connects up to the lever that gets moved when you insert and remove the wand.  This connects to that move able hose on the left.  It's missing a part.

If you can get a pic of the whole machine I can confirm,  or open the thread I linked to,  look at the 3rd pic and you will see a see through part that you don't seem to have

If you look at this other listing of hers
http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/301832903528?_mwBanner=1

And zoom right in you can see it.

Chaps,  what's the part called? Changeover cog? You'll need the screw and washer type plastic thing to go with it though...
