« on: January 10, 2016, 09:09:22 pm »
I bought a dc25 ball vac but brush bar motor has burnt out this is a Johnson made motor saying 240 volt but I have seen that some body says you should have 320 at motor from pc board so why 300volt when motor is a 240 volt. I have taken my motor out and you can see that it has burnt the armature away I am joing to send Johnson a picture and ask why it has to have 300volt ,ihave looked at a motor I took out of a cordless drill and ti looks the same sort of motor. does any body know why it has 300volt from pc board I would like to know ? ? ? diesel

They are a 240 AC feed through a PCB that turns the current to DC and 300 DC is the starting voltage the PCB kicks out to the motor.

The have a limited service life, 250 hours or something. When they burn out, you replace them.

It isnt the case that 300v is burning out a 240v motor.

thank you for that 300 volt dc not ac is there any reason it has to be dc not just given a straight 240vot without pcb ,has dyson got a better motor they could put in place of this short life one, or is this to keep mr dyson in his way of life,he should say no lack of suck but will only last up 250 hours of use this should be on his tv add .I don't think I will tell any body to buy one and I will put mine up for sale after new brush bar head is replaced In short it is a poor item that cost good money with a poor life span .or does he make one that last/s like  (  hoover and henery istill have a old hen,ery I use for the car and it has never let me down in the past ten years iwill have to give him a clean and bring him back into the house  dyson add  should say this one only last/s 2years if you use it for 1/2 hr a day poor not a good buy at all

one other thing is why does it burn the motor out so bad that it can not be repaired yet 90% of electric motors in use last a long time ( washing machine spin dryer my compressor.so there must be a fault with this motor because It looks as if I have used my arc welder on it,
