Misty bin shine up
« on: January 12, 2016, 04:21:09 pm »
Step 1: wash with water to remove all dirt
Step 2: dry well
Step 3: use baby oil and rub it in to the inside and outside of bin
Step 4: leave for oil to soak in 20mins is not all good enough
Step 5: use a microfibre to buff off remaining oil to a nice sheen

Your welcome

Looking smart, Tony.

Do they cloud up as soon as you run them?

Take a couple of weeks regular vacuuming but it certainly looks good for collectors or in a selling point of view

Doesn't have to be expensive baby oil either, I've just got some cheap Superdrug own brand stuff and it does well.

Doesn't the dust end up sticking to baby oil on the inside of the bin - I would have thought even if left 20 mins or so, it would still be tacky to touch?

No because after leaving it 20mins you buff off the remains nice and clear and not slimey to touch

I've tried all different things but this seems to be more effective

Omg I need to try!

I got a new Dc07 Allergy+  yesterday for my collection btw! The bin is a bit marked on the outside aswell (ugh). Used my normal hair spray method, doesn't look brand brand new new out the box but looks like it's been used like once, gotta try the baby oil and let you know :) Ps do I buff with a microfibre cloth by hand? or do I wrap it around a rotating tool
