Dyson DC31 handheld - HELP!!!
« on: December 26, 2014, 08:52:37 pm »
Hi all,

I bought this DC31 on a carboot a few weeks ago, all appears dead. The metal connector pins appear missing from the main unit where it divides to the bin... I have tried the batteries and charger with my brand new DC35 and all working OK. So I think the fault if with the main motor unit.

Any ideas? Picture included.

ila_renderedila_renderedThanks.

Nice find! How much was it? :)
Anyways, you can take the battery out by pressing the grey button with an arrow in the handle, and make sure the metal proms are clean on the battery, and the ones on the inside of the unit. Or it could be the switch

Thanks - Just £5... I have a DC35 and there are metal pins present on mine where they are absent on this one in the place pictured.

I suspect the main unit completely needs replacing?

At worst I could always flog on ebay as spares/repair and get my money back.

Looks like it from here.

At worst I could always flog on ebay as spares/repair and get my money back.

That's what we do with any and all handhelds we get.

I know this is an old topic, but physically that looks normal from here.

I think only some DC31s have power pins there, as I've got one in my hand that also doesn't have pins there nor the wiring that goes round the bin to power certain tools like a motorised brush.
