So then I'm confused......

Sounds stupid and thick ah well. how do you post loads of pictures in the one post like beko1987 does?

You can hotlink them from elsewhere, that is what Beko does, but it slows the page load times down as the page is pulling in an image from an image server rather than the local server.

Also, when you put a lot on one post, it means nobody can link to a specific part of the strip down.

Instructions to upload them here are >>here<<.

To hotlink them you do it like this:

Code: [Select]
[img]image URL[/img]

I hotlink them from Picasa (I pay to have upgrade storage, which has the benefit that images of a certain resolution dont count towards the storage used). Been doing this for years on many forums tbh. Does have the drawback that if I ever delete/move an album it kills the linked picture so it looks a bit messy, but works as a file dump.

I can't get on with uploading images to this forum directly, the file size is very small. Selecting a picture from my phone is too large. The only way I can do it is with images downloaded from the internet with small file sizes, but by the time I've faffed about with that I can upload them to Picasa and link them back down!

IMG tags are easy, I can batter them out blindfolded on here now!

I'd be days writing rebuild threads if I had to manually add the pictures one by one! If you right click on one of mine and select 'copy image address/url', it should paste itself back into an IMG tag. Or use the snipping tool and be old school!

Costs me $5 a year for 20gb on top of whatever is standard, I'm on the 36gb plan, with 16gb used, but making full use of the free size bit!

I could look elsewhere for hosting, but my whole internet life up to this point would disappear and need resetting! So all the images I have on this forum would go, as well as Detailing World, Vacuumland, Pistonheads, my (rarely updated) blog etc

I'm trapped by it now, no escape!

Plus, my Picasa photo's get broadcast on Google+. Google+ is something I've never bothered with tbh but people do follow me on there, I regularly get emails from people saying 'nice vac' when I've uploaded the pics to Picasa ready to sit down with a few beers and spend 3 hours writing a rebuild thread!

I then get into a conversation with them and it takes even longer to do what I was originally going to do!

oh yes on about Google+ that was the worst co*k up I have seen Google do. if you want to just upload videos and have fun you will have to join Google+ to it as well. I know there is a way where you can make one with out a Google+ page but they are for business purposes only they say. I thought about making a youtube account for this forum to show what ever I was fixing performed like before I took it all apart. but the Google+ crap put me off

I created my youtube account before google+ came on, and have managed to steer clear of any google+ rubbish for now.

But despite my youtube channel basically being somewhere I put videos to fit into threads on here, I have nearly 200 followers! Made nearly £40 in ad revenue in the past 2 years too!

Someone like Ibasiac must be raking it in!

Youtube is good, as you can show a before and after. For my Miele S5510, I did 3, A before, part way through and after. Shows it nicely. Got a few videos of the DC39 to upload and update the thread on too thinking about it
