DC02 Clear (I now own one!)
« on: January 29, 2016, 10:19:22 am »
Feast your eyes chaps and chapesses on my new DC02 Clear!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281920791518?_trksid=p2057872.m2748.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Simply stunning!

All I need are clear tools, tool door cover, banana and god knows what else to have it complete!

Or, I find it's too far gone in person and break it for spares. Will find out at lunchtime when I get back from the queen's gaff

Well, it may not be refurbed as such

More split for parts! Already sold the extension tube, floortool and front wheels for what I paid plus postage, so job done!

It has some salvagable bits on it.

My DC02 needs a good banana, so that's that sorted
Hose - good
Top assembly - good
cyclone bar the bin - good
rear wheels - good
Cord rewind - If I fix it, then ace, if not then the clear cable - good
Motor - good
Whatever other little bits I find - good

Will polish the crap out of them and sell them to keep other machines going. I went in knowing it would be battered, and it does not disappoint. Still worth it though for the good parts!

Nothing wrong with that! At least I can say I've owned one (and gloss over the details),  and it will keep others going.  That's worth it enough for me!

I'll tape the hose onto the remains of the entry port over the weekend and give it a whirl!

Yes! Although dyson2000 Facebooked it to me before I saw it here.  Was just past Windsor racecourse,  popped over on my Lunch break

Yea,  true.  Had the front bumper not been smashed I may have attempted something,  but it's far more useful in parts,  and with parts rare for this,  hopefully it can help a few people out

I got this out of my car tonight. Glad I did because the lights were being weird and flashing to themselves. Pulled the battery for now...

I should have expected this since there was a picture in the ad of the hose inlet being off, luckily the seal was sat in the bin

Fixed

I might try and keep these somehow

It's not all bad though, these bits are going to make George's DC02 Clear complete again, for the purchase price which is excellent news for me as this bullet is dodged! No refurb from me so George, you had better show refurb pics! Can put them up to my picasa and let you link from them if it helps?

So, earlier it vacummed it's last!

Well, nearly. Might vacuum the cars out tomorrow...

It doesn't sound too bad! Darn shame it is so beat up.

Hope you find another one someday, I want to see one restored like your dc03 clear was!

like your dc03 clear was!

He did a good job of that.  :icon_nod:

It is now sitting in a cabinet in our new (as yet not open) shop.

If you visit (or pass through) the UK, you will find us 20 mins from Manchester Airport.  :tiphat:

If you ever fancy a long weekend, we will help out with transport and a cheap hotel, etc. We did similar for another enthusiast a while back.

Being about 4,700 miles away complicates it a bit, but thank you very much much for the kind offer. If I ever get the opportunity I will let you know. And Manchester vacs will have to be on the itinerary If I ever make it over to the U.K, or even Europe for that matter. Who knows, I may come back home with something.

My parents had been toying with the idea of going to Europe for a few years now, they want to show me where they were stationed in Germany in the 80's. We also want to make it to Scotland at some point, my name probably gives up why.

Thanks again!
