I dont find the suction of a dc03 to bad.  I think the 30 has better suction than the 16, motor defiantly sound different.

Cool  when I had a Dc03 (10 years ago) I remember the suction being quite bad, even without filters and being all good, a DC01 seemed to be more powerful through the hose, oddly Dyson say all DC01/02/03's have 90 AW which I can't believe

Yes, Dc01's have 1200w and a larger fan so have more suction, weird hwo Dyson says it has the same suction as an 01

Its under 700w but without climbing to the back of the spare room and tipping one upside down I cant check
