Dyson customer service and my DC41
« on: January 31, 2016, 09:28:30 pm »
Hey ;D

As many of you know we own a DC41, and that it has a hairline crack in the chassis. The Dyson engineer says that it wouldn't affect anything so will not be repaired.

So I was vacuuming the stairs last week with it and noticed a hissing noise and it was suction leaking from the bottom of the hose because of the crack. I thought I can use that as evidence that it needs replacing but wasn't bothered.

Vacuumed the stairs again today with it and it popped off!  :'( That could have caused damage to my wallpaper or caused injury. So I rang Dyson up at 7.15 PM approx today and they were closed! (The helpline sticker on my DC41 says they are open 7AM - 10 PM Daily) so they have reduced the timings which is bizzare  :D

So I wanted a new machine anyways cos this one had been a pile of crap from day #1 and was  :reading: the terms and conditions which says "a Dyson guarantee covers the repair or replacement of your machine at Dyson's discretion."

I have lost count of how many things have been replaced and how many times an engineer had been called out and all the nonsense  :'(  :-\  :angryman: Really annoyed with it.

So tomorrow morning I'm going to ring them and demand a replacement Dyson. If they don't then I'm not going to be loyal to them again. I think they will give me a replacement though because of their good customer service

So let's see what happens!  ;) :icon_nod:

Will start off by telling them how crap the DC41 has been in my ownership despite loads of replacement parts and engineer visits then ask for a replacement

Ask them if they can send you a DC14 or a Sebo at their discretion instead of a DC41.  ;D

Update:

I rang them just now and they have been helpful :) It is 100% definite that I will be getting a brand new Dyson DC41 on Monday 8th February. They don't know if it will be the Mk2 or original DC41 which I am a bit worried about! I doubt they have any brand new old style DC41's left seeing as they got discontinued like 2 years ago ;D

I have to give the old one to the Parcel force guy with a note on the bin containing my Name, Address, postcode and contact number

Pretty happy ;D I just hope I'm getting the DC41 Mk2! :(

A winning result! Well done on getting it sorted. What are you going to do with it? Sell or keep? If it was me, I'd sell it without even taking it out of the box.

I'm gonna keep it because I always wanted to try the Mk2 and none of this would have ever happened if I didn't buy a £10 DC14 origin from a carboot sale! 😂😂😂

Cheers everybody!

UPDATE AGAIN:

I rang Dyson to change the date so it will be arriving this Wednesday 3rd February! ;D Gonna use the hell out of my DC41 incase I miss it... That's pretty good though that it will arrive day after tomorrow! Pleased with that

I asked them what they will do with my old one, they said they will recycle it and put iot to the best of use instead of crushing them. I will keep my tools from it and maybe put the worn out head on it and keep the better condition brushbar. I will have to give it to the parcelforce guy without any box but a label on the bin

Also sold my DC14 All floors today for £50 to get the DC33 Animal :) Bidding ends tomorrow afternoon and it's at £30 with 1 bid ;D

Wish me luck!

If it was me, I'd sell it without even taking it out of the box.

I bid £125 boxed and we'll UPS it up.
