Help with wire routing on DC27 beater bar head assembly
« on: February 13, 2016, 04:44:05 pm »
Hello, everyone:

New guy here.  I inherited a DC27 from a guy who had taken his apart (got it in a box) and have been able to put it all back together, along with some service and cleanup.  It has the old cyclone (ah, well) assembly, and had several problems, all of which are fixed.  I even fixed (we'll see how long it lasts) the belt tensioner assembly.

However, I am stumped as to how the wires get routed from the main motor cavity to the beater bar head and motor.  There's a wire cover/escutcheon that holds on with one screw, and the wires appear to have to come out from a tiny slot in one corner of the bottom piece of the main motor cavity cover.  But this routing shows exposed wires that you can see from the front of the machine when the beater bar assembly is in the carpet position.  This can't be right.

Can anyone help with guidance and/or photos?  I want to use this!

Whoops!  I don't know how I did it, but this is a DC17, not a DC27.  Still looking for help.
