Yes it was a brand new Dyson DC04 silver and lime which we got for £150! original box, paperwork, tools everything, it was brand new but only dusty for it's display purpose. Never been switched on

No we needed a new vacuum at the time, we literally had no vacuum and I was in like year 8 and so was still and kid and my mum was looking for a good vacuum, she considered a brand new DC25 at the time and I waned that too but the DC04 in the display of the shop had gone!

So we went in and thank God it was still inside for sale! Just on the shelf now. We bought it and haggled £10 (was £160)  and got it home and used it.  Sorry but at the time I wasnt collecting and I really wanted that Dc04 to officially own it and if that had got sold I'd have kicked myself.  Sorry but we would much rather have a clean house than keeping a vacuum new and not using it, and having OCD makes it worse, but it does help in the way that I did refurb the DC04 every once in a while  :icon_nod: it's just an everyday vacuum now, it's 5 years old and worked really well! Might get rid of it though, my mum uses the DC33 and DC41

Oh and as for the DC25... well I got it 10 months later for my 13th birthday ;D The warranty expires in November actually... crap :/

:o I would have to disagree sorry
Dyson balls are very durable and the DC25 is probably the best Dyson ball there is
They clean much better than DC04's and hardly break physically, DC04's are prons to cracking plastics and the Dc01 is pretty much the same despite feeling solid

They do have plastic wands, yes but you get used to it and I honestly hated the new DC41's etc when they first came out bu after using one in my own home I have actually grown to like them! They are fantastic machines. You just need to give them a chance and they will be lovely machines in your opinion aswell

To be honest, I really don't know if I prefer the newer Dysons or the older ones, both have advanages and disadvantages that cancel out within each other

25 is not bad but not as good as 14

Everyone at our shop has a DC14 at home, nobody envisages changing it any time soon.

We have a DC35 as well for silly stuff, crumbs, etc. Mostly it is a kids toy. Claire has a DC24 upstairs, but not for anything serious (the DC14 downstairs does that). Both our techs have only DC14's.

Olga had a DC24 for about a month, she brought it back to be serviced and sold; she preferred her DC14.

Our new girl, Lisa, will try a DC14 and a Sebo at home for a couple of weeks each, to see what she prefers. Also so she can talk to customers having had first hand experience of both.

I'd rather choose a DC25 over a Dc07, but a DC14 is better than both ;)

he best performing Dyson is the DC41 Mk2. I have tried;
Dc01 Ametek
DC01 YDK from new
DC02
DC03
DC04 clutched & non clutched
Dc05 Normal
DC05 Motorhead
DC07 Non clutched & Clutched (two were brand new)
DC08 Origin with contact head
DC14 clutched & non clutched
DC24
DC25 (new)
DC27
DC33
DC40
DC41 Original
DC41 Mk2

Out of all these, the DC41 Mk2 is the most powerful in carpet cleaning, but for hose suction the Dc08 is the strongest with the Dc07 coming second and DC14 3rd

Sounds good  If I were to use one Dyson for the rest of my life it would be a DC14
