Dodgy DC01 Motor I Encountered.
« on: February 19, 2016, 06:52:14 pm »
So a chap asks about a DC01 motor but says the one fitted in his machine doesn't look like either of the ones we have.

He sent me a photo for clarification.

So whatever that is it isnt a Dyson motor.

Anyone recognise it?

Looking at the top plastic on there, I would suggest this had an Ametek in there originally. Serial is 840. Thoughts?

WTF!!! First time I have seen something new on a Dyson in ages :o

I presume it might be an oldie one if it's an Ametek, but that top plastic motor mount does look a bit similar to the YDK ones too

YDK Dc01's have female spade connectors and the motors have male ones, & Ametek DC01's have male spade connectors with the motor having female ports so I think that might be the easiest way to find out which kind of motor it should have if you check the connections on the motor

I also noticed that DC01's serial numbers beginning with 700 have a YDK motor in and 702 are Ametek from personal experience

Thats not right.

Knock a fiver off the bill and get him to post it back,  see if they do actually fit and are cheap to buy?
