Suspicious parts website
« on: February 22, 2016, 08:43:57 pm »
Hi found this site on HUKD and after having a look shows some very sought after items. Including a dc01 fixed soleplate for only £7.95 and cables for around £8 aswell as other things such as filter cages and cyclones. Hope these are of some use.

I've seen that site before.

No phone number.

No address.

Registrant hidden from pubic view (which is actually illegal in the UK with a .co.uk domain that is trading), as the classification they used to do that is "non-trading individual" which clearly isnt the case.

No Trutspilot reviews.

No VAT number, no company registration details, no legal requirement of privacy notice, no product reviews, no conditions of use, no indication of https during checkout or third party payment provider before one is forced to submit data to make an account. Some of that is illegal.  :-\

After some digging, they have an eBay account that shows no items for sale; and shows them only as a buyer in recent times.

A site that is littered with illegalities, with no contact info at all, is not a place where I would like to spend money. Trading Standards would close that site down in one phone call.

Caveat Emptor

cables for around £8

Used DC01 cable, 20 years old, that is apparently "electrical checked" [sic] (by whom? By what method?) for £7.95. We have new ones for a pound more.

Cowboy, rag arse, illegal sites like that really make my teeth itch.
