Where does it howl from?

Cyclone off - turn on - still howling?
Cyclone off, brushroll on - still howling?
Cyclone off, brushroll on - still howling?
Cyclone on - turn on - brushroll on - howling?

Etc! Fault find, will help narrow it down

Post filter seal? My DC14 Animal did that when I wanted it to be sealed. Could be wrong...
Also, how do you know it affects 1 in 10 Dysons?

I would say buying the book is an INVESTMENT. Even though I knew what I was doing, I still bought the book. I regard it as another tool that is there when I need it.

I love books like this. I can't sit down and read a novel but give me something like this and I will read it cover to cover.

The book is good.  Failing that I wrote an epic stripdown and refurb step by step thread in the 07 section,  work through that and report back if it still howls!

1 in 10 do it... thats a pretty rubbish stat

They are way less than a tenner now. Under a fiver I think.

But yes, I ain't gonna tell him if he cant get a bluey out. One of you blokes might, but it doesn't look like it.

Great free resource here, hosted by us but contributed to by many knowledgeable members. If he cant toss a fiver in the pot somewhere along the line, its a bad do isnt it?

Give and take I call it. He sprays his eBay links all over our site like an Indian spammer on speed, but wont cough up a fiver to learn something? I call that taking and not giving. Like walking into a pub with 10p in your pocket and asking whose round it is.  :coffee:

I know but does anybody know a real cure for it that's free

A decade or two of experience is free.

As you like eBay links so much, try this one.

I agree with everyone lol

Seriously I owned like 50 Dysons and used them daily in my own home, with 90% being wheeled ones , they never did that except when I used worn parts on a worn DC14  :boggleeye:  and on my DC25's
