My DC04 I rescued from being binned
« on: March 04, 2016, 04:58:17 am »
So the story was I got this Silver / Lime DC04 free as the owner had turfed it out due it not collecting of her carpets she also said it was crap so I took it intending to do a trade in on a new DC39

Anyway got it home spent a hour or so cleaning it as it was filthy the canister was full of dust hair and rubbish removed the HEPA filter and it fell apart so added a new one to the buy it now list, the motor one was black but I decided to wash it and see how it turned out which looked fine, onto the brush area that was full of hair so bad infact I found the belt snapped when I took the fascia off 😄 just waiting for this band to arrive
And attempt to fix that, the vac is in very good condition big difference from when I got it .... Just need the canister tools and the tool that snaps on the back of the hose bit!

If I can get it run how I like I may keep it till I've saved up more pennies to buy a new Dyson 😎

Very tidy! Lots of cheap toolsets on ebay, plenty of genuine sets too but they cost more

I have one in the shed. Doesn't look as nice as yours though! It's also quite broken and about to be bodged up with DC07 parts!

Beko1987. It took a whole afternoon to get it looking tidy
It was disgusting must of used half a bottle of domestos on it 😂
Used a plumbers rubber to get the black marks of and it looks good
There is a few scuff marks on the side of the head but if that was replaced
It would look as good as new 😁

I will have a nose on ebay when I get the band and hepa filter I was hoping
Theyd arrive today sadly not I think our local postie only delivers when he feels like it  :))

@parwaz. I'm not entirely sure how old mine is but I read via google its a 2003 vac
I suppose I could message Dyson on facebook if there not to fed up of ne yet lol and ask them 😉

DC04 Lime was not fitted with a HEPA filter just a white fibre pad.

I'll keep an eye here to see ;)

DC04 Lime was not fitted with a HEPA filter just a white fibre pad.

I did think that, but I wasn't sure so didn't say anything. I don't remember a HEPA in the DC04 I had, well I can't even remember if I had an 04 to tell you the truth  :-X

The original  filter I took out was much like these but had Dyson all over it and was blue : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motor-Filter-Dyson-Vacuum-Cleaners/dp/B003XN6HU8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1457138365&sr=8-4&keywords=dyson+filter+hepa+dc04

im unsure which one is the true or not HEPA I assumed the canister one was the culprit the motor one is a thin pad filter lol  :))
