dc01 ydk or amtek motor?
« on: March 07, 2016, 08:21:40 am »
Hello people, collecting a dc01 blue/silver later, i read on here that the standard blue was because when they made the break through they had too much of the blue parts left over. Anyway unsure weather is will have a ydk or amtek motor. I have had 2 dc01s at the same time a year between production dates and 1 was ydk 1 was amtek. Anyone shed any light when they fitted ydk motors as i know the original da001 things and very very early dc01s with the sqaure dyson logo was ydk. Just unsure about the late machines. I know you cant get a de stijl or absolute with a ydk motor.

Hi mate
Usually later DC01's had YDK motors and you do get the occasional late model with an ametek motir, I believe that all Absolutes and De Stijls are fitted with an Amatek motor because the Hepa filter is quite big and the ydk motors are in a cylindrical shape

Hi Tom, is that the one off ebay in Sleaford? If so, read the bargains thread.

That looks so mint  well done mate!
I kind of wish they made the blue DC01's blue and white like the DC02 DAS to make it more realistic, think a white Dc01 would look epic
