Dyson museum. Anyone know where this photo was taken?
« on: March 12, 2016, 06:47:45 pm »
As some will know, we have earmarked some space in our new shop as a museum area. Here is it up to now........

I am planning on adding more to it in the near future.  :-X

So I wanted to know what else was out there in terms of a Dyson museum. I know at Dyson in Malmesbury they have the Daddy of collections (as you would expect - not sure if it is open to the public), but some random Googling brings up this photo:

It has been reused in so many places across the net, its hard to tell where it originally came from. But I spy a DC06 in there.

I am guessing this is at Dyson in Malmesbury, sometime in the past, but I am not sure. Anyone know? (I have asked Dyson but they are often cagey and don't always reply.)

And what is that thing next to the Rotork in that photo?

The vacuum next to the Rotork is the prototype Hoover junior which James Dyson modified by adding a cyclone to it to produce his Dc01 ;)

I'm pretty sure it's not Dyson at Malmesbury, that DC01 Standard is missing the filter flap and the DC07 standard has a clutch, (American ones do but have the BAF sticker on the motor unit and two Dyson logos on the cyclone)

Bloody hell, well spotted Parwaz! Yes, the Origin has a clutch! We build them like that sometimes, but I know Dyson never did in the UK.

That photo appears on a lot of French sites. But I *think* that variation only was made for the US.

Hehe thanks  :king:

The CLIC looks like it has a British plug on it so probs is  :icon_nod:

The USA clutched Dysons have a larger brush housing and the bumper is fatter and sticks out more
