It's happened to me a few times with cheapo Dyson knockoff belts, lolIt also happened when the carpet fringe on one of our old rugs for caught so I imagine on shaggy rugs it could happen, but if it's a Dyson genuine belt or a Qtex belt you should be fine
Is this a green and grey Dyson DC04 or one with a clutch?
Check for cracks in the brush bar around the roller bearings, also check the roller bearings
You saw that on Facebook
I'd try new belts first, I had a batch of 10 from ebay when I first got into refubishing dysons, no name ones. 4 snapped, took alot of customer service to sort that lot out!Qtex ones are fine, I don't think I've ever had one snap. Had 3 burn and snap the belt, but each time something had got jammed (non clutched machine), and I changed those for free too to keep up the good reviews about my work on the local facebook groups!
