On the right hand side of the vacuum (facing it) by the big rollerball there it a cover which is held on by 3 screws. Un screw those and remove the cover. There might be a wire or two snapped, this is a common problem and could potantially be why your DC25 head is cutting out. You might want to get a multi meter and check the output of the electricity coming out of the vacuum and into the headRemove the vacuum head and check the voltage (AC) coming out. Make sure you have the vacuum reclined and switched on with the brush setting on
The multimeter pins are to large to fit in the slender slots at the main unit end...so I have not test these.
