Had a DC40 ERP in yesterday

It was in for a reason though, granted, apparently the dirt wouldn't spin round when hoovering the floor.

and the cause

But of course, I had to test it to make sure, so vacuumed the whole house. It's not bad. Light(ish), beats well, groom's ok, the accu nova brings the hallways pile up better, and the Panasonic Icon kicked it into a corner on the front room rug (damn should have done a comparison video, the icon was downstairs as well!

I did get this little video up on the landing though. Is it me, or is the slider really hard to shove over to MAX?

I believe the DC40 has less suction or its something to do with the design vs the DC41, I notice the tubes on a Dc40 are narrow and thin but the DC41 has tubes similar to a Dc07 and DC04 where there's more airflow :) The cinetic has it as well so better air flow

I want to like the DC40, but I cant :/ Weird tubes, like really narrow as it enters the bin so I prefer the 41 ERP
The bristles on that look slightly worn, maybe she has had it wrapped in lots of hair or used on hard floors with the brush on?

Mine is sometimes difficult to slide it on MAX as well but it depends on what the flooring is I think as it sucks too much

I had to take my DC40 apart like 15 times and not I know how to do it (except I forgot which wires go where on the PCB)

Would like to strip a DC41 down and see how it differs

I quite like how there are less parts to wash when refurbing a Dyson ball, had to remove about 5 pieces to get at my 40 motor and on the DC24/25 you don't need to take the cleaner head off ;D

Same as a DC41, but a bit smaller. Same as a DC50, but a bit bigger.

Yea. I'm glad I set the charge out initially, and although it took me about 3 minutes with the Panasonic Icon to sort, I waited until later in the afternoon to message them saying it was fixed.

The airflow path seems very narrow, although it was blocked up with a lolly stick, so that got through!

I just smiled and said 'not to worry' when the guy came back round, not going to make someone giving me money feel stupid, they may not give me anymore money!

Well as most of you know by now probably, I found one for 20 quid needs a new brushbar motor, wonder where I'm going to find one of those cheap. I've noticed with these you can block them easily

I got the exact one for £15 last year ;D Blown up and broken wheel though
but I bet the wire loom is broken. It's in guarantee as well. I hate DC40 tubes they are o narrow especially where they enter the bin, ugh I'm surprised I haven't seen them block there yet

Nice, where do you get your bargains from!

See how the motor broke, it will be good knowledge for the future!
