Sebo Engineers Lend a Hand Please
« on: April 30, 2016, 01:05:42 pm »
Hey you lot,

Are there any experienced Sebo Engineers on here that can lend a hand with some advice on an issue with my Professional G1 at all?

Thanks ;)

- Rusty.

Hi, the belt on the right hand side you changed, have you looked at the grooves to make sure they don't have a build up of Kevlar in? Are the grooves on the pulley clean too? If not this can cause vibration and almost makes the belt skip. Sebo UK aren't on Twitter by the way so not sure who you've tweeted

That is odd but true. The US has an account but it seems long abandoned. They might want to look at that to increase brand awareness.

Despite this being a (new) imported machine that isnt technically entitled to warranty in the UK, I wonder if Sebo UK might be inclined to fix it if Rusty paid the carriage?  :innocent:  The fact it was bought from Germany shouldn't really make a difference. The chap may end up a good brand ambassador if Sebo did the needful on this occasion.

I love the G1, I have 1 of my own, for personal use and bought 10 for  a cleaning company I co own.
I find it cleans better that the X4 because you can manually set the hight adjustment to what you want it set at.

I cannot watch the video for some reason

Well, the sensor thing seems to have eaten away at the new belt too, but the teeth don't look damaged, just the edge where it rubs against the side of the sensor.

As for their twitter, after looking it seems it may be an abandoned account or a fake one so that tweet will be useless lmao.

I have called Sebo Uk a few times about this but I was told that because it was imported they can't do anything. They offered to "Take a look" for £70 but seen as I've replaced everything apart from the motor and Electrical items I don't know what else can be done? I've spent more than £70 on parts I think haha.

But I'm no Sebo professional, to me it's a mechanical object and by a process of fault finding and then elimination I should have been able to fix the issue but it still persists, so I'm stumped.  :'(
I dare say the professional that works on these machines daily will know what to look for when fault finding where as I just work from common sense and years of fixing mechanical things. This is the first Sebo I owned and the first I had to take apart to repair lol.

Spill the beans - what news? Did it go back to Sebo?

Not yet  :D

That's right, but I can't find the Valve in England yet... Qtex haven't got it, Sebo apparently haven't got one although they can sell me one from another model for £40 but it might not work.
My Aunt works for a large whitegoods repair place so she's trying to get me one lol. Who's have thought a part that costs 7 Euros in Germany would be so hard to find here...

I'll buy it from Germany if I can't get one here lol.  :'( :'(

Ok so sorry to revive this thread and if the problem has been resolved but I have a dead unit of the sebo in so decided to do an investigation into why the belt in the video pulls to the side.
I found that if the rubber motor mount was not put in fully that the belt would pull to the side , so I sprayed the rubber and the plastic face that the mount touches with wd40 to find that the mount fitted with no fuss and the belt no longer pulled to the side .
Hope this helps someone either now or in the future.

Adam.

Good evening Mr Adam, Dude.

I fixed the problem by trying to kill it, I sucked up as many socks as I could to attempt to teach it a lesson however once I got them all out and turned it on the entire problem had gone away.
And, further more it hasn't returned yet either!  :boggleeye:
