Vacuum Cleaner Museum: Manchester - Stockport - Tameside
« on: May 12, 2016, 03:51:12 pm »
As some will know, we have earmarked an area of our shop for a Dyson museum. We are building up a collection of refurbished and/or new old stock Dysons and have many of the rarest machines Dyson ever made.

Anyone interested enough to want a look is welcome (preferably not Monday or Thursday mornings please). You can find us >>here<<. It doesn't cost anything, but we have a charity collection box you are welcome to bung a couple of quid in.

As we get different machines finished, I will add some extra photos.

Here is a silver and orange DC04 Constant Max we got finished a few days ago.

Here is a purple and magenta limited edition Meningitis model we got finished today.

I'll add more as the museum develops and we have more machines ready for it.

They look absolutely stunning! I think the pink Dc04 would look nicer in a circular grey plug though :P

Very nice! Love the DC03 Clear... I had a Meningitis DC04 a year or so ago, regret selling it sometimes

I am actually quite fond of the constant max after seeing your pics! All because of the smashing job you did  :icon_nod:
How often do you get these in your shop?

I think we are doing two 001's from the best of three machines (one an early Chippenham [pre Malmesbury] made one), and that is one of them.

Very seldom we see them actually. Certainly, very seldom we see them as clean as that one.

For those interested in the rebuild topics on some of those above, here they are:

Shame, wish here were more of these around
I think Dyson should bring out another commercial machine because the 04 was pretty good. I imagine a DC14 constant max which is brilliant! All t needs it a more reliable motor really

Very nice! You not got any of the other common ones to sit with them until they sell? Obv space may be an issue

These ones are not for sale; they are for looking at.

We do very few DC04s to sell now - they are worth more to us in spares than to refurb when we get them.

Thinking about it,  there's quite a few still to go,  and I agree,  you do t want to sit on a whole machine thats worth more in parts

Two more machines added to the collection. A DC11 in one of the lesser-seen colour variants (still need a crevice tool for this if anyone has one?).

And a 1969 Hoover Junior U1346.

The restoration of which is documented with photos and videos by Beko here: Hoover Junior U1346 (December 1969) - Restoration.

Glad they arrived safely! Do we get a video of the Junior cleaning the shop?

At least you have the Hoover that started James Dyson on the road to world domination,  it was one of this shape that he used for his prototypes!

Plus,  it would kick a dc50s backside...

Not had chance. But I tried it and it does sound nice now the motor whisperer has breathed on it.  :icon_nod:
