and then the wiring. Fit the mains cable and route it through it's channel

ila_rendered

Wire up the switch

ila_rendered

Connect the neutral wires and pop them into their holder

ila_rendered

Whilst the cleaner is laying on its back on your dead leg, rest the mains switch cover on the top

ila_rendered

and then lay the main switch housing over that

ila_rendered

Bang the screws in

ila_rendered

That should be all the screws back in now, if you have any left, start worrying now  :biglaugh:

Crevice tool clip fitted

ila_rendered

Fit the wand release clip spring, then the clip, being sure to insert the top first before clipping the lower pivots in

ila_rendered

I found the crevice tool at this point

Clip the hose into the wand and fit the wand. You can now get the damn cable out of the way

ila_rendered

Fit the wand cap

Now, go test the machine. Check it turns on, and sucks so powerfully you can almost pick it up with suction alone. Then recline the machine as if you were vacuuming. Check the brush spins fine, stand it up and recline it a few times to check the clutch works fine. Check the brushroll really digs into the carpet. If it doesn't, stand it up, lay it on it's side and twist the internal hose a bit until it springs (you'll see how it goes when you do it, trust me!)

Then, you can fit the clutch cover

ila_rendered

And we are done!  ;D ;D ;D

Admire your work

ila_rendered

I refurbished all the tools too, which have threads that need to be written, but here is the whole ensemble. And yes, it came with the instruction manual as well!

It's up for sale on Facebook at the moment, for more than I usually try for, but I thought it was worth a bash for a higher price, we shall see if it pays off!

Either way, I hope this helps someone fix their DC14 back to stupendous working order!

Good night!

One of my fav threads so far ;D

If you had it's original box, that would be a 100% complete DC14 mint!

I don't have a belt lifter tool, I can easily remove a brushbar with a twisting action and guess what :)) When the Dyson engineer fitted a brand new clutch and left, I stripped my 33 down to refurb, thern when it came to assembly I managed to get the brushbar over the brand new clutch with just my bare hands in less than 30 seconds! :king:

Thanks for a very interesting and timely stripdown Beko. I've just acquired a DC14, together with a DC07 for the princely sum of £2 the pair, so I'm looking forward to getting them both outside for a refurb (if ever we get a dry day that is). They are both a mite too dusty to risk an indoor stripdown without the wife knowing  :-X

Ha tayyab,  thats all those dysons you carry across the Midlands regularly!

Oldmoley,  thats a bargain at £1 each! I have to do my stripdowns either outside or when she's not here and clean up promo afterwards!

Thanks! I feel I need to re-do some of my earlier threads too after doing this,  my 25 one is lacking in detail I noticed,  and as luck would have it I have one in the shed to do...

If you have a floppy bottom hose  :chuckle: put it in the dishwasher, it will come out all stiff and springy  :))  :whist11:
