We had one of these about 15-20 years ago. If I remember correctly, it did a passable job as a shampooer but was absolutely useless as a vacuum cleaner. I didn't last very long so if ours was typical of the brand, there can't be many left.

Cool, I think Sam had one ages ago, he also thought the performance was crap lol :))

Unfortunately I can't get on with Vax (although Sam has impressed me with his videos and descritions of the turboforce!). I bought the latest Vax Air steerable total home from the carboot sake for £8  with a blocked filter ( A 2015 model). The brush groomed nicely but that's about it! Horrible design, cyclones and quality. :( Sadly..

We had a 6140 pets- Fragile as hell, just had good suction and was an alright wet vac. Crap physical quality and pumps always failed on these too etc.

Auntie's Vax ultrixx- Air relief valve would hiss after vacuuming one room due to the filter constantly getting clogged.

My cousin's vax power 1- Crap suction

Uncle's Vax power 1- Crap suction

All Vax machines my family members owned were replaced by either a Dyson or Numatic :king:

Right! I remember now. The blue one went back and we got a green one (which had a "refurbished" sticker on it) under warranty.
Bloody useless, utter elephant wank!
But! At the same time, my wife (as was) won a DC04 in a raffle or something.

After the divorce, I got the house, she got the DC04!

I've got lots of DC04's now!

I still have my upright vax! Infact I need to finish it off,  as the wet kit is a bit lost at the moment.

Im not a fan tbh,  only bought it as it was close to me,  it's barely passable as a vacuum,  and ive never used It wet.  I stripped the spill pickup tool to wash,  put it back together exactly as it was and the bastard thing doesn't work now,  it blocks all the airflow.

I would get rid of it,  but its such a fat bastard itll be a right pain to post!

As a future classic though,  maybe...

We had the spill pick uo tool with our 6140 Pet vax,it worked okay but the airflow sounded extremely restricted because it had to suck through a TINY hole! About 5mm X 2mm is how small that hole was IIRC
