Vaclensa ProClean C167 - Stripdown and Refurb

A while ago, my house clearance guy bought me this round
A Vaclensa ProClean. I've never had one of these, but another collector has, and gave it the thumbs up.
It did work ok before tbh, despite a clogged filter and stinking of dog
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=swTaW_pyNT4
I got a manky set of tools with it, uncluding 2 metal tubes that are welded together, and an original Vaclensa floortool which was sadly scrap as I like this style (I've never had a Numatic single pedal one either)
The underneath was as scrap as the cover too, so in the bin that went! The hose and filter also went in the washing machine.
So, onto the teardown
Cord off
The recovery bucket was filthy, this hasn't seen a bag for a long while
The hose input screws onto the main bucket
Like so!
The wheels pull easily off the base, and were covered in blue paint. A few minutes scraping with a knife got it all off easily though luckily
There was more paint under the bucket too
The bucket made a handy place to put all the bits as they came off!

Onto the motor unit now
I peeled off the old pat test sticker, which shows how filthy it all is. The plastic is textured, and holds the filth
The top screws were buried under a layer of filth
But once all 4 were dug out the top handle/cord storage bit came away
This also releases the top hat, revealing the second layer
The post motor filter sits in a removeable box at the back of the unit
The anti strain assembly for the cable is screwed on just beside this
and breaks down like so. I binned the split ring as it was mullered
4 screws on the middle cover lifts that out of the way

The clips that hold the 2 halves together pop off their runners just like Henry ones do
The switch comes out next
As does the cord with the clamp removed
The motor and seals lift out of the bottom chassis
The top seal lifts off the top of the motor
I had the carbon brushes out, after being caught out by the Premiere Mini a few weeks ago, and their fine!
Comm is nice and clean too
I thought the motor looks familiar, and it does, it's the same Amtek unit used in Numatics of a certain age, and DC04 Lime Green machines, just without the belt spindle part
Job done, she is stripped down (very, VERY easy!) Everything was washed, dried and polished
Even the cable
which looked much better afterwards!

Exploded diagram shot!
And time to re-assemble! Motor and seals dropped in
Clips clipped in
Cable clamped down
and the switch connected up and cables routed
I nearly forgot the top seal/positioning block (remembered as I was putting the 4th cover screw on...)
and put the middle cover on
I found a nice straight split ring, and put the cord strain assembly back together
and screwed it onto the housing

With the top cover and handle/cord storage halo fitted, she's nearly done already!
Hose port screwed back on
Wheels pushed back in
And a lovely new HepaFlo bag fitted (again, same Numatic style fitting)
The filter came up nicely. Not quite as white as I'd hoped, but spotless none the less
So on that goes
Post motor filter back together, with an air freshener for good measure
and fitted
The little sponge filter that sits over the fan cover fits back in too

Getting there now, I bought a set of good old 2.5 metre toolkit, which is such a good set value for money wise!
And once fitted, it looks like this! I put 2 more bags with it too
I love this thing, it's easy to have apart, and works damn well afterwards, I'd say the suction is MUCH sharper than a Henry, although this is 1300w and Henry is/was usually 1100w.

Eva loves it too!
It has had interest at £40, although I seem to have a f
kwit collecting it, who has been silent for 2 days now, so watch this space!
