For some reason, vacuum cleaners seem to go hand in hand with sewing machines in the USA. So there are loads of places called
"Hank's Vac and Sew" and similar. Maybe one of our US members can tell us why sewing and vacuuming seem to go hand in hand over there?
Anyway, on my internet travels, and when I have been there, I see loads of cool little vacuum and/or vac and sew shops there.
I had cause to contact one today. Here it is.

(Not sure how old those photos are but both the van and the car look a tad retro)Google also told me that Desco Vacuums in Chelsea, Manhattan, NY is quite well-regarded locally
(reading reviews etc). So if you are in Manhattan, check out Desco Vacuum on 14th Street and tell us what you think.
But to expand the topic, if you know a really cool vac and/or vac 'n' sew shop in the US. post it here with a photo. It'll be great to see vacuum shops over the pond.
