"Hens teeth" parts wanted!
« on: September 03, 2016, 08:20:26 pm »
Hi all, just thought I'd ask- does anyone have any brand new yellow wheel caps for DC07 Wheels? I can source grey, white and blue ones, but new yellow ones are non existent it seems. Doesn't matter if they're genuine, but must be brand new.
Also, a brand new purple and yellow DC07 cyclone assembly- there is a seller selling them on eBay, however they do not have any of that actual colour scheme, and offer to send out lavender or grey instead.
If not, what about just the yellow cyclone fins (called a "bin baffle" or something) in yellow, brand new? They seem to be non existent too.
Thanks in advance..!

I know- but it's worth a try. I tried, and managed to find a brand new purple wand and purple cleaner head. It just goes to show it is possible that someone may have these parts I need out there

You can buff wheel caps so they come up like new.

That's looking increasingly likely, since new ones completely extinct. I'm suprised, considering the other parts I've found that I didn't think we're still around, that there are none in yellow

I can still get new DC04 wheel kits, which likely have the same glamour caps.

But they come out at £13.75.

The part number you want is 900049-02 or 900049-01 for the caps on their own.

Might be worth asking BB Dyson as like us, they get a lot of old stock and obsolete stuff.

The cyclone you want is 904861-38 and this seller on Amazon claims to have some.

Thankyou very much for your help Stuart- I really appreciate it. I'll order one of those Amazon cyclones and we'll just wait and see.
As for the wheels, they're a tad expensive for just the glamour caps, if I needed the whole assembly that would be perfect. I'll get my car polisher on the existing wheel caps and see if they come out "acceptable", if not a New wheel kit is something to fall back on.
Thanks again!

I'd check with the Amazon seller that the part number/colour are right as many will have standard yellow in stock they will send out. To 99% of people that wouldn't matter.

DC07 genuine spares are due to go obsolete any time now, so colour variants are drying up as they are running the stock down.

I should really have looked for a yellow bin flap too. Can't find one of those either!

Yes, as expected, that supremeplumb website was in fact too good to be true. They emailed to say that they don't actually have any of the parts in stock, as they were long since discontinued(unsurprisingly).
Ordered a £43 cyclone from Amazon, let's just wait and see.
The search for wheel caps, and maybe a bin flap, post filter cover and soleplate screws continues...
