DC15 Mystery Part - Where Does This Fit

Today someone brought me a DC15 with a Brushbar problem. They handed me the Dyson and the part in the photo below and was told this part had come off the DC15 but they didn't know where. I very rarely work on a DC15 so I haven't a clue where it goes, it looks like its held on somewhere with a screw. Any ne got an idea where it goes? 2 photos of the part below:

Fits on the cleanerhead - if you unscrew the baseplate and it slots in underneath the small side hose
