DC07 changing it
« on: September 19, 2016, 04:26:30 am »
Could I not get the Dremel and cut the cyclones to make them less longer or would it not work. Thanks

Thinking of some fun ways to mod the Dyson.

I don't think it's possible to even modify a DC07 to work better as they work really well anyway. You mean cutting the tip of the Cyclones? Dyson did that for the later models to de root them and made them noisier , but they worked much better.

I wouldn't say to cut them further than this because cyclones need to be a conical shape rather than more of a cylindrical shape.

I just replaced my original cyclone which had the number 1 stamped on it for the number 2 type. Makes loads more noise but works well. I didn't even know they'd modified them until I read about it on this forum

I'm not sure tbh. Mine is very old too, I got it new in 2001 and it had the number on the cyclone but maybe some didn't.
