I got emailed by a lady who had 'sucked a tissue into the motor' of her DC28C. I picked it up at lunchtime, and had a look just now

This is all she gave me

Front gubbins off

Wheels off

Cracked open

The non replaceable (by the end user) filter looked clean

Mmmmm, that's not a tissue

All back together, works a treat again. £30 for 10 minutes work, I'll drop it back tomorrow lunchtime.

The first one we did only took us about two hours. As is the way......

never changed a motor on one of them yet ,I agree first time I did a clutch 20 years ago on a dc04 took me 1 and half hours now I can do it while chatting to punters in 9 mins more you do easier it becomes

I had to take my dc40 apart to the motor like 20 times and I finally got it working

Apparently, she was cleaning the car and blocked the hose with it, so, without thinking (she said that), she took the cyclone off and put the hose to the suction inlet... Knew immediately what a title she was and turned it off (again, her own words)

No idea what it's like, the suction very strong without the cyclone fitted but I didn't get that, just got the motor unit.
