DC24 Brush Bar PCB blown - no reset button

Hi Guys,

Just got a DC24 with a non running brush bar.
Disassembled as per instructions and found a blown resistor on the PCB, no signs of damage or smells from the motor.
I've checked for images of the PCB to find what the resistor is but it seems to be a totally different version from all I can find.
There is no reset button and only surface mount components on the underside.
The resistor is labelled R1. Does anyone have any experience with these specific ones or have any idea what the value might be?

The later one did away with the reset button.

Not sure on the values as we never repair them. It would be typical for a faulty motor to take the PCB out though, so a head may be the best bet.

YOu can replace it with the older type though, but you will need the red insert from around the reset button as well which would replace the blanking plate you have.

The PCB's for DC24's are very hard to source and as such come with a highly inflated price. When a PCB goes pop I would go down the route of a new head assembly as MVacs suggested.

Not hard to replace IC componets, use the right value but a better tolerance and watt resistor. Dyson probably used cheap parts. But all the IC does is rectify AC to DC. Cap smoothes the voltage and the resistors probably protect and discharge the cap when turning on/off.
Look up "bridge rectifier" on google.

if you have not sorted your issue i had the same problem and i found that the PCB had blown i swapped it with the old style with the reset button but it would not fit in the head due to the reset underneath and the design of the space.so i had to source a correct replacement which i fitted with a new motor and all now working hope this helps
