DC17 Animal motor wiring routing
« on: September 30, 2016, 09:13:27 pm »
Took our DC17 apart in a hurry the other day to replace a bad beater bar motor. Did not note wiring routing as it comes off the main vacuum motor and into the bar housing. Also need picture or diagram showing where the activation switch mounts to the beater housing.

The DC17 as a US only machine, likely needs one of our US friends to chip in who might know more.

Not sure if this helps from an imported DC17 we have on the BB motor......

On the main motor, you guys have black and white, are the terminals not different sizes?

Thanks for the reply!
I have the wires all on the correct terminals. I think I've discovered where the roller motor wires feed thru the housing but am uncertain where the wires are routed from the main motor so as not to be crushed by its housing.
There's also a little switch that goes near the roller at the housing and I'm not sure where it goes.

The problem with these is as they are a US machine, one of our US members needs to help out with this when one of them sees it.

I need to know where to route this set of wires without the cover crushing them.

We own a DC17 I'm going to replace the brush motor in. I'll post some images of how the wires and switch are positioned once I do so! Sorry it took me so long to see this, I haven't logged on in a while.

do not forget to feed the brush bar motor wires through the base hoods side, like I did my first run through!

Also, the white and black wire do not lay in the same area when you're putting on the brush bar motor cover. I struggled with it for a while before I realized there is a place to feed a wire through the front and back of the brush bar motor seat, on it's left side.
