G-Tech Air Ram Mk 2 Opinions? Might Have Some Coming.
« on: November 17, 2016, 04:29:05 pm »
One of our suppliers offered me a deal today on some G-Tech Air Ram MK2 machines.

I got a shop floor sample today to play with, and was quite impressed. Reviews online seem good.

Anyone got one? What do you think of it?

I was watching Ideal World the other night (yes I know...) and they had a whole hour of the Mk2, and the handheld thing.

What caught my eye the most is the amount of bits it left behind (coffee granules I think).

Now you have had a play, so you maybe able to answer this question, is it a Vacuum Cleaner, or a stickvac/battery powered handheld? Because for a full, on its own Vacuum Cleaner, I'm not convinced. For a secondary sweeper vac, probably very good.

I'm still waiting for the Mk1's to fall down to my price range...

From my little play with it today: As a main machine in a family home, probably not. A pensioner might just manage using it as a main machine. Yes it's a sticky lightweight thing that I would put in the "comparable with Dyson Cordless" camp.

Certainly better than say a DC35, apart from the lack of tools functionality.

Like a cross between a Dyson cordless and a Eubank really. Or a motorised Eubank.

But they are under £200 delivered so value wise stack up pretty well against a Dyson IMO. I'd predict them selling well based on the online reviws.

You're right, they will sell well, especially the amount of media coverage they are getting at the moment, half your job will be done!

I think they are utter rubbish, you can get more up with a dustpan a brush, no better than a carpet sweeper.

I said I'd take 40 to see how they do before the deal dries up. If anyone fancies one, they should land tomorrow. £184 delivered. £175 in the shop.

IMHO I think they are worth 1/4 the RRP, sadly I just dislike them.

I had a Play with the Mk1 in Comet when they were closing down, when I leaned it over to see the brushbar and feel the stiffness, it seemed okay, slightly soft though.  I then stood it upright and omg all the dirt spilled out because the dust container is so close to the brushbar

They need to sort that out I think, it didn't clean that well but did alright. I ahd a DC35 and it wasn't impressive either. A DC14 with a blocked pre filter probably cleans better and that's saying something!

4 AW at the cleaner head for the Mk1 Gtech Air ram, I wouldn't own one, I imagine they are just a robust cordless sweeper with extra boost in the battery duration :icon_nod: I think they are overrated like the horrible modern machines produced by Vax.

You'll sell plenty of them because the public are very easy to convince, but my personal experience of them from having a look at my cousin's one is that they're just an electric dustpan and brush. A few crumbs and the smell bin's are full. Fine if you have a flat the size of a normal bathroom and you vacuum daily then you won't run into problems but if you have a "Normal" sized home then it'll be useless and a waste of money.

But as I said, you'll sell loads and that's all you need to worry about lol.

Well, I can tell you. I seldom had a product that sells so fast. By tomorrow I expect the last few will have gone.  :o

I am trying to get another 100 but the deal I had may have dried up already. In hindsight I should have taken 500.

Isn't it just? I was cautious of a few grand on 40. People love them.
