Depends on which DC04. If it's a clutched one, then yes. Zorbster, probs best if you swap the TOCs over and a basic clutched one is fine. The suction may be a little underwhelming than on a normal DC07 motor, based on personal experience that's what I found.

well I bought a used dc07 motor and decided to put the dc07 one in my dc04 and the dc04 in my 7, Suction on the 7 isn't bad, although there is a horrible noise when you put your hand over the handle, and the suction on the 4 is brilliant.
Well I'm assuming it was a 7 motor I bought, It said it was removed from a working dc07, when it arrived it said it was a  YV511 on the motor, but sounds like a 07 motor. both machines work brilliantly

When I put a clutched DC04 motor into a DC07 Origin, it sounded like a DC14 Origin with a Samsung motor (almost) and had less suction than a DC33.

You can put a dc07 motor in a dc04. That'll be cool.

Yes, It will fit any DC04, however you would have to buy the Ametek to YDK dc04 motor kit for the lime and grey and the blue grey dysons.

revivng my old dead thread here, But just come across this comment. I remember the sound when I fitted a YV-511 to my DC07, When I gave my nan her DC14 From one I recently bought I swapped the Samsung motor for your usual Panasonic 2200. Shoved the Samsung in my DC07 and immediatly recognised the sound, very much similar to the YV-511 sound.
