Yes you defiantly need one you can drop to 50hz

Hmmmm the one I was looking at apparently can't drop the frequency, only work with either 50 or 60hz

You could always rebuild the motor with new bearings or re pack them with grease and risk it

That is a scary prospect, I've never even seen a dc01 before. Stripping it would be a stretch, but I might. I'll figure something out

The 110v runs the control and motor and the 220v runs the heating element.
