We'll happily send a DC01 to the US. As it happens, I do have a spare fixed soleplate one that is very tidy.

Naturally, the shipping isnt cheap, but it is what it is.

I have to go back to australia for a wedding next year so I will look there and bring me back one on the plane, or a dc04. If that doesnt work I will eventually order one from mvacs, or would like to trade with someone a machine from here, I see dc17s and 28s all the time.

I'll probably order one from Mvacs at some point. It would just be nice if one popped up in a local charity shop! Even if I would have to fight taran57 for it...... ;D

Very rare to see any dyson in a charity shop here. Always lines of bissels though  :(

Is it one with the old style dyson typeface?

So here is the one that has been in my "waiting for the museum" corner that hasn't made it as we have the almost identical machine there already. It came as part of a collection "as is".

Its an early fixed soleplate model. We'll give it a fettle and service to make sure it's right before it goes. But that doesn't mean a full cosmetic restoration.

I'd want £75 clear for it, so with packaging, Paypal fees and shipping, I doubt someone would see much change out of $200-$250 by the time it's in the US of A.

If anyone is seriously interested, shoot me a PM and I'll do "the math" as you guys say.

Damn that is a tidy machine!  Im not bothered about a dirty machine, restoring is half the fun, but if I am going to be spending 200+ I have to have some due diligence, machine must not have broken/cracked parts or faded/yellowed plastic. But stuff like fixing belts, strip down and clean and finding missing tools isnt a problem

My mind says yes but the finances say no. Have fun with it taran57.

Mvacs, if another earlier one like this comes along (in similar condition) I would be interested.
