Kirby vacuums DO clog!
« on: December 14, 2016, 06:15:08 am »
This machine came to be cause it wasn't picking up, no wonder the cleaner head was jam packed with crap and the brushroll had a fishing line rolled around it!  :'(m

I cleaned it all out, new belt, brushroll, fan and motor/belt shaft was needed.  :coffee:

Blimey that's bad! I bet the belt was very worn, so the brushroll stopped easily. On my old G5 when it had a new belt it would take your arm off if you even thought about stroking the brushroll when running!

A day of chiseling crap with a screwdriver for you then?

Eventually dug it out, the brushroll was knackered though.

Too right!
And nothing is idiot proof, even had a Kirby where the cleaner head would not attach as the lugs had been sheared off from ramming the cleaner into walls and furniture. People need to learn a bit of common!

It amazes me how steep the depreciation on a kirby is. Cant even sell em for $75 here, even a new avalir model. They line the back wall of every pawn shop.

I wish they lined the walls of the local cash converters here... They're still around £400.

Ouch!
The sentria is pretty common, one down the road for $45 but needs a good polish.

If it wouldn't cost around £300 to ship it here I'd send you money to buy them and send to me lol.

I have a friend in Wisconsin looking out for some of the older 1940's Kirbys for me :)
