Disgraceful really, an elderly relative has one that has never been used and has been told she has to pay 99 for a condensing replacement (current is vented). Hotpoint won't tell me if i am affected. But I can't get in touch with crusader.  :'( >:(

I must admit I have never watched mine in a cycle. It is at the back of the garage and I can barely get to it never mind watch it. I do watch the vent hose that's out the windows for smoke though. Just bought a new filter on Friday for it.

Our dryer is over 20 years old (white knight), its always left on or put on at night etc, so is the washing machine, dish washer, oven etc.

I use the time on the washing machine and dishwasher to come on at 03:00 so it finishes just before I leave for work at around 05:00.

I wouldn't ever trust the dryer to be on in the garage though, I hate not knowing what it's doing. That's only ever on when I know I'll be around until it's finished.

I would love to put a 3kg white knight in our bathroom to save going out to the garage. Much better than the grotpoint counterparts I have seen. And their quality too.

Well our dryer is in the pantry under the stairs, so if it dose go up we are truly fu#@ed

I love the white Knight, simple and reliable, only needed 2 spare parts, 3 if you count new hose, new timer about 8 years ago, was under £25  :o  and new door hinge about 18 months ago, about £5

Oh dear, I can't leave anything on if I'm asleep or out mind you... I'm one of those who turns every plug socket off apart from ones like the fridge obviously...
