DC24 needs resetting problem
« on: January 01, 2017, 10:19:59 am »
Hi, i have a dc 24 that runs good but the reset button keeps popping out every 30 seconds or so, i'm just wondering if it is going to be the motor or pcb.

Are you sure it's not just experiencing resistance?

Thanks for the reply, in what way are meaning resistance? The brushbar is fully cleaned and i have run the hoover with it layed flat on the floor with the head raised off the carpet.

Well, I'd suggest checking the sides of the brush as even wound up hair or carpet fibers can cause enough to cause the trip to reset. That's what it's there for so at least you know it's working I suppose...

Just been running it without the cover on the head and the motor started smoking then tripped, pressed the reset and it still works surprisingly, but the motor was too hot to handle.

Well from what you're saying and without seeing it myself it sounds like the motor is working too hard and getting hot thus tripping the trip.

That's common knowledge I'm afraid I can't offer specialized knowledge on that model, I'm sorry to say ;(.

Thanks RustySkull. Hi Madrat the head has been fully stripped and cleaned and the motor cleaned out with a compressor so is spotless.

In that case if nothing is catching are the belt spindles and brush bar free to turn? the only other thing is the motor itself.

There not the strongest or longest lived motors.

Spray WD40 in all the bearings, just double check they spin freely as Madrat said

WD40 solves everything, you should all know that by now.

Especially for you Parwaz, Japan uses a lot of WD40.
