DC04 Absolute tool use
« on: January 02, 2017, 01:20:05 pm »
Hi Dyson fans. Happy New Year!

I am hoping someone can help me. I have inherited a DC04 Absolute Lime and Purple. Having no trouble just general hoovering,  bit when I go to use the wand for the tools I can't get any suction. Do you have to change a setting somewhere?  I found an online manual which seems to indicate you just push the green button on the neck to release the wand bit although I can release it and extend it there's no suction. Would appreciate your advice. It's probably something really simple..  Thanks Lisa

If you follow the hose there should be a U bend, Check that is completely in, they can be a real pain if they ever have been out.
Also check the Automatic Change-over valve which is the thing on the head with the grey pipe coming from behind the bin to the floor bit, Check thats securly in, I find very commonly that these are out, sometimes you have to pull out the clips so it 'CLicks' into place

Don't forget to check for blockages while you're at it.
If the motor changes pitch when you put it back into upright position there is most likely a blockage.

To clarify, at the back of the machine, at the bottom of the hose, you are looking for this.

Is it there?
