To split or refurbish?

Hello all,
 I have got my hands on a Dc04 zorbster and its in need of parts and refurb but is it worth while or is it just worth striping for the parts, as what is the chance of selling it on?

Any info or advice would be Awesome thanks

unless complete in good condition I just strip ,sell wand handle keep motor change thermal overload job done

At the very least it needs the dispenser, wand cap, switch button and housing, new cable and a hell of alot of spit and polish.

The wand cap may be tricky, as it's bespoke to the machine, same with the switch cap.

I should be getting an 04 zorbster this year (must remind the bloke when I have some spare money to pay postage), to make one lovely one out of my shit one and his OK one. May not help you immediately though.

The zorb dispenser is very VERY common on ebay, often unused. Hell, I had one of my customers drop a brand new one off to me with 2 unused tubs of zorb a few months ago as she was going to bin it (owns a 25 now, I'd just relieved her of £65 to refurbish it!)

Failing that, if you just want to sell it, put boggo yellow eand cap and switch button on, any old switch housing and cable and sell it as a DC04, I guarantee you 99% of punters looking for a £50 DC04 won't even notice it's a zorbster, or even know what one of those is! I only want mine working so I can zorb, having never done it before! Must get the new motor fitted I bought. One day etc!

I never had a DC04 zorbster. They look cool, they to 110V when the cyclone and bin is removed for zorbing and I wonder how the dispenser works? All I know is that the clutch has a spindle to spin something in the hopper.

To keep the good parts if they are in good condition, I'd look at the hoes, wand, tools and the wand cap/switch cover like Beko states 

Speaking of early Dysons, I've never owned a Dyson made before 1997 I don't think either

EVERY DC04 Zorbster I've had has had a knackered clutch! Obviously a clutch change was needed to a standard one and also the thermal fuse on the motor. Not a problem, just a bit of a pain in the arse.

If you're interested I've got a Zorbster brush head and hopper (if the clutch is OK, which in my experience is pretty unlikely!).

Every single clutched DC04 I come across have VERY soft bristles on the brushbars along with a knackered clutch

Stick a Dc14 brush in there or something, and if the edge cleaning is really wanted then change the end caps over too!, Done it on my De Stijl

We have new silver wand caps. I wouldn't be surprised if we have both in lavender used though.
