Just finished a dc14 for the local ambulance station and have another for the mother in law. I personally like the 07 more but would reccomend the 14 first.

The DC07 is a brilliant machine, but it's weaknesses are IMHO:

Weak cyclone handle

Snappable wand due to no metal in the whole thing

No large debris channel

The bin flaps often break (unlikely on a DC14, but once I slapped a DC07 bin very hard whilst emptying- never again)

When you want to bang the cyclone against something with the DC07, the cyclone fins could possibly break and if tapping it vertically the bottom of the fins get scratched and catch dirt- the DC14 has a rubber seal which protects it from all scratches etc

The crevice tool holder often cracks and isn't convenient for car cleaning. The DC14 has all tools on board the vacuum

Moulded cyclone- hard to clean

I'm going very OTT aren't I?  :-\ :coffee:

I use a paintbrush when i empty them
Then swing the cyclone outside which disloges dust. But i guess not having back yards in the uk make that hard  :chuckle:  :underchair:

All of those are true facts but I'd never use one for Vacuuming a Carpet lol. Only cars or things you would use the hose only for.

Just picked up a DC14 from 2 mins from us - Cannock, Listed on Facebook yesterday £35 fully working all tools  dc14. someone said theyd collect today, 1 hr before we went to collect it, ***RELISTED*** DC14 Fully working all tools £35, Relisted due to timewaster. so we went up and collected her, its brilliant! suction is amazing, however the crevice tool is from a dc07 so doesnt fit quite right but it fine. no need for that broken dc07 with the faulty house
