DC25 motor fits into a DC18
« on: January 24, 2017, 11:22:54 pm »
I took at a look at my Dyson Motor/Model comparison chart today and found a reference that a DC18 and a DC25 sometimes share the same motor, 45 mins later and 'voila' it works...only one thing I noticed that needs doing and that's you will find there is a 3rd locating nipple on the motor side of the rubber shaft cover that (ideally) needs snipping off (I didn't bother and it works fine though)........I'd just thought I'd post this info if it helps anyone.

Please feel free to comment if you have already know about/have done this or DO try this.

......if it aint broke, take it apart and see how it works.

Interesting, one thing I discovered is that a DC25 motor will fit into a DC15 (the only difference seems to be the wattage, but physically they look almost identical besides the location of the male connectors sticking out of the motor IIRC.
