DC25 STICKING BALL
« on: January 24, 2017, 10:02:10 pm »
I've just picked up a DC25 Animal, on which the ball constantly jams. The ball can be rotated by hand, although it 'catches' and feels as though it's fouling on something. When the cleaner is pushed across the floor the ball won't move at all. I'd like to sort this out, as the cleaner is in otherwise decent condition, and I'd like to get it working properly. Before I get the tool box out, does anyone know if this is a known problem, and if so, what I should be looking for?

Probably the post motor HEPA filter that popped out. Press the blue button holding the cover on the ball and the filter cover pops off and the filter would be popping out because it's too clogged in carbon, either give it a good thorough wash or get a new one ;) You can also use it without the seal, but it wouldn't be a HEPA anymore

Many thanks Parwaz. I'll have a delve and let you know the outcome.
