just wanted to say hi
« on: January 25, 2017, 05:37:11 pm »
hello all I have qualifications in electronics  and house wiring, but fully qualified
not bragging, just introducing myself i did a search on google for answers on fixing a Dyson  dc14 which wood not stay upright, found the  simple fix on YouTube, which meant just aliening it up together and cost nothing to fix.
I was also delight to find this forum at the same time.
I am almost retired looking looking my dad  as a full-time carer looking to make some pocket  money
buying broken machines and selling them on Gumtree, or back at the car boot sales
so far a few machines have just not been cleaned for years. a good washing/cleaning of filters is mostly all that is needed
some need switches and some need motors
i have three needing motors changing, but i have difficulty taking motors out from the casing.
i have looked on line and thinking to buy tools for stripping the interiors or cars, from eBay as they are only a few quid, to separate the case, they would also useful to have. I am also interested in other machines and have never heard of SEBO, until now on this site

Welcome!

Dyson vacuums are very easy to work on, they are designed to be stripped and have parts replaced like LEGO ;)

The older a Dyson is the more simpler they are to work on, the ball ones are slightly more trickier but still doable, you'll get the hang of it if you work on machines like DC04's, 07/14/33 models

Dyson vacuums are very easy to work on,

You'll be knocking DC18 and DC40 yoke looms out in about 15 minutes then, yes?  :biglaugh:

Welcome Alec, you are in friendly and knowledgeable company.  :tiphat:

I'd suggest one of these and a set of these is a better place to start.

Much awesomeness is Sebo.  :icon_nod:
