Yet Another DC40 Brushbar Problem

I've been asked to look at a friend's DC40 on which the brush bar is not turning. The fault seems to be intermittent, since I had it working for nearly a week (without touching anything), but the brush bar has now stopped again. I can get a reading from my multimeter across the brush bar connector on the machine itself, so power is obviously getting through, although the reading is very low. Could this be a dodgy loom making and breaking intermittently? Before I delve into the guts of this machine, has anyone done a procedural on this yet, or can advise me as to what sequence I should follow when dismantling? I'm eager not to b****r someone else's machine up!

Their is an issue with the yolk loom that is a pain to resolve.
The loom breaks but if the angle is just right then the connection is made and the brushbar works.
I would strip it and find out what the issue is , just don't remove the screw that holds the clear cog just loosen it.

Like Adam said, that will be the usual loom problem.
We did
three of these on the same day recently

Many thanks for your advice folks. I have a new spare loom handy, so will take a deep breath and get cracking on this one tomorrow. As an antidote, I have a motor change to do on a DC07 CLIC. Should return me to (relative) sanity!
